Completion of this application does not guarantee approval of the ceremonial street sign. You will be notified whether your application is approved or denied within approximately 30 to 45 business days of receiving a completed application. If you are missing information, the 30 to 45 days will begin when all information has been received. If approved, you will then need to submit a check or money order for $150.00 made payable to the “Director of Finance”. If approved and once payment has been received, Baltimore City will have approximately 2 business days to install your sign. Street Signs will be installed one business day prior to date of installation!
Ceremonial Street Signs are not permitted to be installed "mid-block" without exigent circumstances, your sign will only be approved for installation at intersections, with existing light pole or signposts already installed. All Ceremonial Street Signs must end with the suffix "Way." (Example John Smith Way). To remain installed beyond one year, you must resubmit another application and if approved pay an annual installation fee of $150 made payable to the Director of Finance in the form of a money order or check. All payments are to be made at 401 E. Fayette St. Baltimore, MD 21201.
