FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BALTIMORE, MD. (Wednesday, June 22, 2022) - Mayor Brandon M. Scott released the following statement in response to the deaths of two members of the Baltimore Ravens family, Jaylon Ferguson and Tony Siragusa. Ferguson was found dead Tuesday night in Baltimore's Harwood neighborhood. Siragusa, a member of the Ravens team that won the Superbowl in 2000, died Wednesday.

"I am saddened by the loss of Ravens outside linebacker Jaylon Ferguson. He was just a young man living a life that most of us can only dream of. Jaylon was torn from this world in the prime of his life. I ask that we all pray for his family, his three young children, his friends, and his teammates as they deal with this tragedy."

"My heart is with Tony Siragusa’s loved ones as well. This has been a tough day for our Ravens family. I will never forget watching that 2000 Ravens team win the Super Bowl with the best defense ever to grace the NFL, and Tony was an integral part of that history-making defensive front. They brought pride and recognition to Baltimore, and we are forever grateful for that."
