FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Free Fall Baltimore runs from October 1-October 31, 2011.

Today, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake was joined by local artists, event sponsors, and representatives from the Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts to announce the return of Free Fall Baltimore. Presented by Susquehanna Bank, the 6th annual event will take place throughout the month of October at locations in Baltimore City. Free Fall Baltimore is a promotional collaboration designed to make a wide variety of cultural experiences accessible to all residents of Baltimore City and beyond.

“This year, Free Fall Baltimore puts the spotlight on some of our smaller cultural gems,” said Mayor Rawlings-Blake. “Free Fall Baltimore allows residents and visitors to have a taste of our rich and diverse arts community, exposing them to everything that makes our hometown great. I encourage all of Baltimore to take part in everything Free Fall Baltimore has to offer.”

Highlights for the opening weekend of Free Fall Baltimore presented by Susquehanna Bank include music by Bach Concert Series, an exhibition with Baltimore Clayworks, a play and reception at the Baltimore Theatre Project, an exhibition opening and discussion at the Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute and Cultural Center, dance classes with Dance Baltimore, a performance at Everyman Theatre, free admission to the Jewish Museum of Maryland, and a living history presentation by the Mount Clare House Museum.

More than 80 local cultural organizations and attractions have collaborated to provide hundreds of free arts activities, including dance, theater, and musical performances; exhibits and free admission to museums; hands-on workshops; lectures; literary walking tours; and special events. Participating organizations are located throughout Baltimore City. Dates and venue times vary. Seating may be limited, so certain events require advance reservation. For an up-to-date schedule, or to register for events, visit www.freefallbaltimore.org.

Free Fall Baltimore is made possible by presenting sponsor Susquehanna Bank, Joseph and Harvey Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds, The Abell Foundation, William G.
