Peace Mobile to deploy as a core component of Coordinated Neighborhood Stabilization Responses

BALTIMORE, MD. (Friday, June 2, 2023) - Yesterday, in the Frankford neighborhood, Mayor Brandon M. Scott, alongside the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement Executive Director Shantay Jackson unveiled Baltimore's first-ever Peace Mobile.

Inspired by LIFE Camp New York's PeaceMobile, the Baltimore Peace Mobile is a City-owned RV outfitted into a mobile resource hub designed to offer immediate resources to residents experiencing trauma served during the city's Coordinated Neighborhood Stabilization Responses (CNSR).

CNSR is a trauma-informed approach to violence prevention that mobilizes City agencies and community-based partners to embed critical, readily accessible resources in communities that experience acts of violence or other traumatic events over a 45-day period - both proactively and reactively. Informed by 211, 311 and 911 data, MONSE coordinates with partner agencies and organizations in the community so that each activation is specifically tailored to the response area. Reactive engagements include major law enforcement takedowns, mass shootings, juvenile-involved shootings, police-involved shootings, and accelerated violence incidents.

The Peace Mobile is outfitted with resources to aid residents in healing following a traumatic event or during a proactive stabilization activation. Features and resources include but are not limited to:

• Recording studio
• Video gaming system
• Punching bag and boxing gloves
• Board games
• Snacks
• Narcan kits
• Toiletry kits, and more.

MONSE will regularly coordinate with city agencies and community-based partners to offer resources to residents free of charge.
