Mayor Rawlings-Blake Activates Emergency Operations Center for Storm Response & Recovery Operations

Today at 7:00 a.m., Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake activated Baltimore’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to coordinate storm response and recovery operations between city agencies. At the Mayor Rawlings-Blake’s direction, police officers and emergency responders will be deployed throughout the city and are able to respond to any incident, and forestry and public works response crews are on stand-by. 911 and 311 are fully operational. Use 911 for emergencies only.

Mayor Rawlings-Blake Mobilizes All City Agencies to Prepare for Hurricane Sandy

Today, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake convened all City agency heads to immediately begin preparedness operations for Hurricane Sandy. Mayor Rawlings-Blake and City agencies are coordinating efforts to ensure that all necessary emergency response vehicles are in-service and fully fueled, and that adequate police, fire, EMS, public works, and forestry staffing plans are in place, going into the expected storm period.

Mayor Rawlings-Blake Announces Winner of First Attendance Competition

Today, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and Baltimore City Public Schools CEO Dr. Andrés Alonso announced the winners of the first Mayor’s Attendance Campaign competition. The pre-K and kindergarten students at Westside Elementary have won by increasing their average daily attendance for the first month of school from 89 percent last year to 95 percent this year.
