In March 2024, Darcell was named Interim CEO of the Enoch Pratt Free Library.
Vice President of Public Services Darcell Graham joined the Pratt library in 1998. Darcell has worked in the Neighborhood Library Services and SLRC Public Services departments. Prior to her current position she was Deputy Director as well as the Chief of the Collections & Access Services Division, encompassing Collection Development, Access Services, Digital Resources, and the Maryland Interlibrary Loan Organization. Under her guidance, the public service divisions of Enoch Pratt Free Library are committed to providing equal access to print and digital resources that connect the residents of Baltimore City and the State of Maryland to information.
As Vice President of Public Services, Darcell oversees Neighborhood Library Services, the State Library Resource Center, and Programs and Outreach. Her team is responsible for the coordination and management of over 2.6 million print materials and electronic resources for the Library’s 22 branches and oversight of several statewide programs, including the State Library Resource Center, Digital Maryland, the State Publication Depository & Distribution Program, Sailor Statewide Databases, and Maryland Interlibrary Loan Organization. Darcell also oversees the Pratt Library’s Programs and Outreach division, which presents a vibrant collection of virtual and in-person programs at library branches throughout the city.
Darcell enjoys being a part of an institution that values staff, the sharing of ideas, and life-long learning. During her time at the Pratt Library, she has led and served on several staff committees that included the Staff Association, Staff Welfare Committee, and the Staff Social Committee. She has also served on the ALA Committee of Library Advocacy, ALA Committee on Diversity, and as the ALA Emerging Leader, Chair of Promotions and Fundraising.
Darcell holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Baltimore and Masters of Library & Information Science from University of Pittsburgh.
