Baltimore Mayor's Office: Update on Winter Storm Management Delayed Opening, up to two (2) hours, is in Effect for Non-Essential Employees, including Employees who are Teleworking

BALTIMORE, MD (Tuesday, February 11, 2025) - Today, Mayor Brandon M. Scott issued the following update regarding City Government efforts to confront the winter storm impacting Baltimore and the region.

Baltimore City offices will have a delayed opening of up to two (2) hours for non-essential employees, including non-essential employees who are teleworking, and have care provider responsibilities, such as childcare or eldercare.

Essential employees, and employees designated as emergency essential (for the current weather event), must report to work and/or remain at work as scheduled, unless informed otherwise by their agency head, designee, or immediate supervisor.

For any time used, up to the two (2)-hour grace period, for the purposes of payroll, use Administrative Leave Code 157 when entering time in Workday. Employees arriving after the two (2)-hour grace period, or who are taking leave, must use accrued vacation, personal leave, compensatory time, or authorized leave without pay to cover the absence.
