Mayor Scott to Hold 2020 Vigil of Remembrance: Honoring Those Lost to Violence in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD (Wednesday, December 30, 2020) — On New Year's Eve, Mayor Brandon M. Scott will be joined by City officials, faith leaders, and community organizers for a virtual vigil to read the names and honor the lives of those lost to violence in Baltimore in 2020. 

The 2020 Vigil of Remembrance: Honoring Those Lost to Violence in Baltimore will take place virtually on Thursday, December 31, 2020 from 6-7:30PM. Members of the public are encouraged to join the virtual vigil on Mayor Scott’s Facebook page.

“Baltimore has experienced tremendous loss this year,” said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. “For another year, we have lost over 300 people to violence in Baltimore. This year, we saw heightened violence against women. Before we embark on a new year, we will take a moment to honor those we’ve lost and recognize them not as numbers, but as the individuals that they were and the legacies they leave behind.”
