Executive Director, Live Baltimore
Steven Gondol knows cities can succeed. He is Executive Director of Live Baltimore, a local marketing and information resource organization whose mission is to help people find a place that they can call home in Baltimore. He began serving as the Executive Director in October 2011. Under his leadership, the organization improved accountability of its existing programs while launching new initiatives to grow the City’s population through Baltimore-area employers and Way To Stay, it’s family-focused retention program.
Prior to his current role, Steven served as the organization’s Business Relationship Manager – coordinating Live Baltimore’s partnerships with real estate professionals to ensure each customer’s goal of living in the city is achieved. This was a seamless transition from his initial role with the organization as the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Relocation Manager, which he held from 2007-2010. His responsibilities focused on coordinating the relocation activities and marketing campaign for personnel coming from New Jersey and Northern Virginia to Aberdeen Proving Ground and Fort Meade respectively.
Steven’s background in urban planning and interest in city life includes living in cities such as Cleveland, Amsterdam, and Washington DC. He currently serves on the board of the Southeast Community Development Corporation, is active in the Patterson Park Neighborhood Association, while previously serving on the board of the Friends of Patterson Park and as a Big Brother with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Central Maryland.
A native of the Youngstown, Ohio area, Steven is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelors of Urban Planning degree. He, his wife, and two kids reside in the Patterson Park Neighborhood. You can find Steve with his dog Ferris enjoying the amenities of the park just outside his door.
